Intake valve

A mechanical component in an internal combustion engine that controls the flow of the air-fuel mixture or air into the combustion chamber. It opens during the intake stroke to allow the mixture to enter and closes during compression and power strokes to seal the chamber. These valves are typically made of heat-resistant steel alloys.
