Poppet valve

A valve that uses a disc or cone-shaped head, called the poppet, to seal against a mating seat. It opens by lifting the poppet off its seat and closes by pressing it back down. Poppet valves are widely used in internal combustion engines to control the flow of intake and exhaust gases.
