Finger grip

A molded, ribbed or recessed surface on a tool, handle or component that gives the user's fingers a secure and comfortable hold. It reduces slipping and improves control, and it is built into hand tool handles, power tool housings and control knobs. Ribbing, knurling and soft elastomer overmolding are the usual ways to make one.
