Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-002390

A printing technique for creating a gradual blend of colors, from the French word for 'melted'. In this process, two or more inks are applied to the inking slab and blended where they meet before being rolled onto the printing plate or block. When printed, this creates a soft, continuous tonal gradation in a single impression, often seen in artistic lithography and screen printing.
