Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-003309
A relief printing method where a raised surface, such as type or a plate, is inked and then pressed directly onto the paper to transfer the image. This technique creates a tactile impression in the paper, known as a deboss, which is a characteristic feature of letterpress prints. It was the dominant printing method for centuries before the advent of offset lithography.
