Cliché

A printing plate, typically made of metal or polymer, that carries the etched or engraved image to be transferred onto a substrate. This plate is used in processes such as pad printing or letterpress to pick up ink and deposit it onto the desired surface. The depth and detail of the cliché determine the quality of the printed impression.
