An intaglio printing process where the image is etched or engraved into a printing cylinder or plate, forming recessed cells that hold the ink. The depth of these cells determines the amount of ink transferred, allowing for continuous tone and rich color reproduction. This method is commonly used for high-volume printing of magazines, catalogs, and packaging.
