Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-003310
A standard of print output that produces text comparable in clarity and appearance to that produced by a traditional typewriter. This quality is achieved through high-resolution printing, where individual characters are formed with sharp edges and solid fills. Early dot matrix printers often had a letter-quality mode that used multiple passes to increase dot density.
