Growan

Decomposed or weathered granite, particularly the coarse, gravelly material found in tin and tungsten mining districts like Cornwall, England. This granular rock mass consists of quartz, feldspar, and mica fragments that have broken down in place through geological processes. Growan is often the host material for cassiterite (tin ore) and wolframite, making it a primary target for extraction in alluvial or open-pit mining operations.
