Headliner

The fabric-covered composite panel that forms the interior ceiling of a vehicle's passenger compartment. It provides a finished appearance, conceals the roof structure and wiring, and contributes to sound insulation and thermal management. Headliners are constructed from a backing board of fiberglass or molded fiber, covered with foam and a decorative surface material.
