Underboard

A layer of boarding installed beneath the primary flooring material, typically made of plywood or oriented strand board (OSB). This subfloor provides structural support, a stable base for the finished floor, and contributes to sound insulation. It is fastened directly to floor joists and forms the foundation for subsequent flooring layers.
