High-time
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-002842
Describing an aircraft, engine, or component that has logged many operating hours or cycles since new or since its last overhaul, usually close to or beyond the manufacturer's recommended time between overhaul. Buyers and inspectors treat a high-time item as having less remaining life, though a recommended overhaul interval, unlike a mandatory life limit on a part, is not always a legal retirement point. Piston engines in general aviation have recommended overhaul intervals of roughly 1,200 to 2,000 hours.
