Hose jacket
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-007036
The outer woven fabric layer of a fire hose that provides reinforcement and protects the inner waterproof lining from abrasion, heat, and mechanical damage. It is constructed from synthetic fibers like polyester or nylon, which offer high tensile strength and resistance to mildew and rot. A double-jacket hose has two of these concentric woven layers for increased durability and higher pressure ratings compared to a single-jacket hose.
