Jump

A sudden, abrupt change in the elevation or continuity of a coal seam or mineral vein, often caused by faulting or folding. This geological discontinuity can disrupt mining operations and require adjustments to the mining plan. Jumps can range from a few centimeters to several meters in displacement.
