Microsatellite
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-003647
An artificial satellite with a wet mass (including fuel) between 10 and 100 kilograms. These small satellites are used for a variety of missions, including scientific research, Earth observation, and communications, often flying in constellations or as secondary payloads on larger launch vehicles. The CubeSat standard, while technically defining even smaller nanosatellites, has greatly influenced the modular design principles applied to many microsatellite projects.
