Microwalk

Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-007105

A gait pattern for a legged robot where only one leg is lifted and moved at a time while the others remain stationary to provide a stable base. This method provides maximum static stability, as the robot's center of gravity always stays within the support polygon formed by the feet on the ground. The microwalk contrasts with more dynamic gaits like a trot or gallop, where multiple legs are in the air simultaneously, trading stability for speed.
