Three Laws of Robotics

Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-005971

A set of ethical guidelines formulated by Isaac Asimov for the behavior of robots, intended to prevent harm to humans. The first law states a robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm. The second law requires a robot to obey human orders unless they conflict with the first law, and the third law dictates a robot must protect its own existence as long as it does not conflict with the first or second law.
