Moravec's paradox

Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-003755

An observation in artificial intelligence and robotics stating that, contrary to traditional assumptions, high-level reasoning requires very little computation, while low-level sensorimotor skills require enormous computational resources. This paradox highlights the difficulty of replicating human abilities like perception and motor control in robots. It suggests that tasks humans find easy are often hard for robots, and vice-versa.
