First Law of Robotics

A foundational ethical principle for robots, as conceived by Isaac Asimov, stating that a robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm. This law, along with two others, forms a hierarchical set of rules intended to govern robot behavior. These laws are a recurring theme in science fiction and influence discussions on AI ethics.
