Milliarcsecond

A unit of angular measurement equal to one thousandth of an arcsecond. An arcsecond is one-sixtieth of an arcminute, which is one-sixtieth of a degree. Milliarcseconds are used in astronomy and geodesy for extremely precise measurements of angular positions and movements, such as stellar parallax or tectonic plate shifts.
