Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-002568
A multiple of the ampere, the SI base unit for electric current, equivalent to one billion (10^9) amperes. This unit represents an extremely large flow of electric charge, far exceeding the currents found in typical industrial or power transmission applications. The gigaampere scale is relevant in astrophysics for describing phenomena like stellar flares and in high-energy physics experiments.
