Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-001610
A unit of electric current equal to ten amperes, based on the SI prefix 'deca'. While not as frequently used in practice as the base unit ampere or its smaller multiples like the milliampere, it provides a convenient scale for expressing moderate currents in heavy-duty applications. A current of one decaampere represents a flow of ten coulombs of charge per second past a point in a circuit.
