Hectoamp

A unit of electric current equal to 100 amperes, from the SI prefix hecto. The unit is almost never used, since currents of this size are simply written in amperes or kiloamperes, as in the rating of a large circuit breaker or welding machine. Welding sets, for example, deliver currents of a few hundred amperes.
