Centiampere

Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-001045

A unit of electric current equal to one-hundredth of an ampere, or 0.01 A. It follows from the SI prefix centi but is almost never used in practice, because small currents are written in milliamperes and larger ones in amperes. A current of one centiampere is the same as 10 milliamperes, and the ampere itself is one coulomb of charge per second.
