Pressing cloth

A piece of fabric placed between an iron and the garment being pressed to protect the garment's surface from direct heat. Using a pressing cloth prevents scorching, melting, and the development of a shine on delicate or synthetic fabrics like wool, silk, and rayon. These cloths are often made from undyed, lint-free cotton muslin or organza that can withstand high temperatures.
