Italian cloth
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-003091
A smooth, lightweight, and lustrous lining fabric, originally made of wool but now also produced from cotton or synthetic fibers. It is constructed with a five-harness satin weave, which places most of the warp threads on the surface, creating a glossy face and a dull back. The fabric's slippery surface and durability make it a preferred choice for lining high-quality garments such as suit jackets and overcoats.
