Farmers' satin
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-002178
A strong, durable cotton fabric with a satin weave that creates a smooth, glossy surface on one side and a dull finish on the other. Its tight weave makes it resistant to wind, water, and soiling, so it is used for the outer shell of work jackets, heavy-duty trousers, and linings. The material is also known as Venetian cloth and is typically piece-dyed in solid colors.
