Farmor

The owner of a working interest in an oil, gas, or mineral lease who assigns a portion of that interest to another party, the farmee. In this transaction, the farmor retains an overriding royalty interest or other non-operating interest in the property, contingent on the farmee successfully completing agreed-upon work, such as drilling a well. The farmor is not obligated to contribute to the costs of the initial exploration work.
