Describing a vehicle that is in a safe operating condition and meets all legal requirements for use on public roads. This includes proper functioning of brakes, lights, steering, and tires, as well as compliance with emissions standards. A vehicle must pass a roadworthy inspection to be registered in many jurisdictions.
