Running gear

The wheel-carrying assemblies of a vehicle or railcar, made up of the axles, wheels, hubs, bearings, springs, and suspension components. On a railcar the running gear is the pair of trucks (bogies) under the car body, and on a trailer it is the axle and suspension group, while the body or load platform is a separate structure.
