SIRTF

The Space Infrared Telescope Facility, the original name for what is now known as the Spitzer Space Telescope. This infrared observatory was launched by NASA in 2003 to study the universe in infrared light. It provided unprecedented views of star formation, exoplanets, and distant galaxies.
