Thresher
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-005975
A piece of agricultural machinery that separates edible grains, such as wheat or oats, from their inedible stalks and husks. The process involves beating the harvested crop to loosen the grain, which then falls through screens while the lighter chaff is blown away by a fan. Modern combine harvesters perform reaping, threshing, and winnowing in a single operation, but standalone threshers are still used in some regions.
