Ute

A utility vehicle, originating from Australia and New Zealand, that combines a two-door passenger cabin with an integrated cargo tray in the rear. Unlike a conventional pickup truck, which has a separate cab and bed, the ute's body is a single piece, derived from a passenger car chassis. The term is an abbreviation for 'coupe utility', and the first mass-produced example was the 1934 Ford coupe utility.
