Unshielded Twisted Pair: A type of copper cable used in telecommunications, consisting of pairs of wires twisted together to reduce electromagnetic interference. UTP cables are widely used for local area networks (LANs) and telephone connections. They are categorized by performance levels, such as Category 5e or Category 6.
