Jumper cable

A pair of insulated wires with heavy-duty clamps at each end, used to connect a discharged vehicle battery to a charged battery from another vehicle. This connection allows the charged battery to provide enough power to start the vehicle with the dead battery. Jumper cables are rated by their gauge, with lower numbers indicating thicker wires and higher current capacity.
