Car battery

A rechargeable battery designed to provide electrical power to start an internal combustion engine and to supply power to the vehicle's electrical systems when the engine is not running. Most car batteries are lead-acid batteries, typically operating at 12 volts. It also stabilizes the voltage for other electronic components in the vehicle.
