Battery cell
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-000467
A single electrochemical unit that converts stored chemical energy into electrical energy through a chemical reaction. Each cell produces a specific voltage, such as 1.5 volts for an alkaline cell or 3.7 volts for a lithium-ion cell. Multiple cells are often connected in series or parallel to form a battery pack with a desired voltage and capacity.
