Fuel cell

Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-002473

An electrochemical device that converts the chemical energy from a fuel, such as hydrogen, and an oxidant, often oxygen, into electricity through a controlled chemical reaction. It continuously generates power as long as fuel and oxidant are supplied, without combustion. Unlike a battery, a fuel cell does not run down or need recharging.
