Cell

The basic electrochemical unit that converts chemical energy into electrical energy, or vice versa, within a battery. Each cell generates a specific voltage, and multiple cells are connected in series or parallel to achieve the desired voltage and capacity for a complete battery pack. Common cell chemistries include lithium-ion, nickel-cadmium, and lead-acid.
