Vapor lock

A condition in an internal combustion engine's fuel system where liquid fuel vaporizes in the fuel line, creating bubbles that obstruct fuel flow. This phenomenon typically occurs in hot weather or when the fuel line passes near a heat source. Vapor lock can cause engine stalling or difficulty starting.
