Varactor
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-007353
A semiconductor diode whose capacitance varies with the applied reverse bias voltage. This property makes it suitable for use as a voltage-controlled capacitor in electronic circuits. Varactors are commonly employed in voltage-controlled oscillators (VCOs), phase-locked loops (PLLs), and tunable filters for frequency modulation and tuning applications.
