Clamper

An electronic circuit that adds a DC offset to an AC signal, shifting its entire waveform either above or below a reference voltage level without altering the shape of the signal. This circuit uses a diode, a capacitor, and a resistor to achieve the DC shift. Clampers are often employed in video signal processing and power supply rectification.
