Cycloconverter
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-001529
A type of static power converter that transforms an AC input voltage of a specific frequency directly into an AC output voltage of a different, adjustable frequency, without an intermediate DC link. It achieves this by switching segments of the input waveform to construct the desired output. These devices are frequently employed in high-power applications like variable-speed motor drives.
