Gimmick capacitor
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-002573
A small, fixed-value capacitor created by twisting two insulated wires together. The capacitance is determined by the length of the twisted section, the wire gauge, and the dielectric constant of the insulation. This improvised component provides a very low capacitance, typically in the picofarad range, for high-frequency tuning or trimming applications.
