Electrolytic capacitor
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-002006
A type of capacitor that uses an electrolyte as one of its plates to achieve a larger capacitance per unit volume compared to other capacitor types. It consists of an anode, a cathode, and a liquid or gel electrolyte. These capacitors are polarized and must be connected with the correct voltage polarity to prevent damage.
