Electrofinishing

Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-006956

A process that uses an electrochemical reaction to remove material from a metal workpiece, resulting in a smooth and polished surface. The workpiece acts as the anode in an electrolytic cell, and metal ions are dissolved into an electrolyte solution. This technique is often applied to stainless steel and other alloys to achieve a mirror-like finish.
