Solion
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-005464
An electrochemical device that uses the movement of ions in a solution to perform electronic functions like amplification, integration, and switching. Solions operate based on the principles of concentration polarization within an iodine-based electrolyte, where an applied voltage causes ions to migrate and create a measurable current. This technology was explored for low-frequency analog computing and control systems before being largely superseded by solid-state semiconductor devices.
