Capacitor plague

A period between 1999 and 2007 when a large number of electronic devices experienced premature failure due to defective electrolytic capacitors. These faulty components often swelled, leaked electrolyte, or burst, leading to malfunctions in motherboards, power supplies, and other circuits. The issue was primarily traced to a flawed electrolyte formula.
