PUT
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-004595
A three-terminal semiconductor device that functions as a voltage-controlled switch, similar to a unijunction transistor (UJT) but with external resistors to set its intrinsic standoff ratio. It turns on when the anode voltage exceeds the gate voltage by a certain threshold. PUTs are commonly used in relaxation oscillators and timing circuits.
