Pushrod
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-004594
A slender rod that transmits linear motion from one component to another, often found in overhead valve (OHV) internal combustion engines. It transfers the upward motion of the cam follower to the rocker arm, which then opens the valve. Pushrods are subject to compressive loads and must be rigid enough to prevent buckling.
